Join us for our Food and Drink Special Interest Group
We are pleased to invite you to our refreshed Food and Drink Special Interest Group, created to support trade professionals working in the food and drink sector.
British traders in the food and drink sector are some of the most resilient businesses in the UK, overcoming great hurdles to market their goods in a wealth of international markets. This year has seen some very turbulent trading conditions, with upcoming directives and unpredictable tariffs making exports particularly difficult to navigate.
This edition of the food and drink special interest group will take a close look at some of the key issues faced by traders today, and what to expect with new compliance criteria expected for products over the coming few months.
Discussion Topic: Challenges UK Traders Face at the Border
- Preparation for EUDR – Manufacturers and suppliers of Soy, Coffee, Cocoa and Cattle will need to provide importers with extra compliance criteria from December 2025, attendees at the SIG will be given information on what suppliers can do to remain complaint when exporting these commodities to the European Union
- Keeping the supply chain flowing – With outbreaks of Foot and Mouth Disease earlier in the year, and now Lumpy Skin Disease effecting a wide array of imports from key trading partners, the SIG will explore the current guidance on these barriers to trade, and what can be done by UK importers to mitigate disruption in the supply chain
